The SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) in Beverage Service will equip mid-career individuals, including those in employment, with the right skills to make career transitions in the Food Services sector. The various technical and soft skill courses will equip individuals with skills and competencies to work effectively and efficiently in food and beverage service establishments focusing on specialty beverages.
The objective of the SCTP in Beverage Service (Specialty Tea) programme is to prepare learners for more complex job functions in the specialty tea profession. Learners will be introduced to the six major teas, processing methods and flavour profiles of each unique tea type. The theoretical components will enhance learners' product knowledge of a tea service professional and build confidence in making food and tea pairing recommendations. Learners will also be taught the principles of tea brewing methods and learn to prepare and serve specialty tea in accordance with standard tea service guidelines.
The programme is conducted in a blended learning mode comprising asynchronous and synchronous eLearning and in-person practicals.
