Funding schemes explained

SkillsFuture (SSG) Funding

The SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Funding is a subsidy that is automatically granted to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents for SSG-approved courses. The funding amount depends on the course, applicant’s age, and citizenship.

Who? Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents

Coverage: Dependent on the course, applicant's age, and citizenship

How: Automatically applied wherever eligible

SkillsFuture Credits (SFC)

SkillsFuture Credits (SFC) is a credit automatically granted to all Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above. For SSG-approved courses, SFC can be used to offset the remaining payable course fees (after SSG Funding).

Who? Singapore Citizens

How: Indicate the amount of credits you wish to utilise during the registration process

Timeline: Applied upon course registration if eligible.

SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy

The SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy provides Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above with higher course fee subsidies of up to 90% to support upskilling and reskilling.

Who? Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above

Timeline: Applied upon course registration if eligible.

SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit for Employers (SFEC)

SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) is a one-off S$10,000 credit given to eligible employers to defray out-of-pocket expenses on qualifying costs for supportable initiatives. The purpose of SFEC is to encourage employers to invest in enterprise transformation and enhance employee capabilities. ​Check your company's SFEC eligibility here.

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. NTUC members enjoy 50% unfunded* course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above will get increased funding support from $250 to $500.* Unfunded course fee refers to the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidy, excluding GST.

Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)

The Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) is part of the Post-Secondary Education Scheme to help pay for your post-secondary education. You can only check your eligibility and PSEA balance by contacting MOE at +65 6260 0777 or contact@moe.edu.sg.

Who? Singapore Citizens and PRs

How: Please indicate "PSEA" in the online registration form, where you are asked if there are any other grants you intend to apply for.

Upon receiving your registration, Bettr Academy will send you a PSEA Undertaking Form to complete. It takes 3 weeks for the PSEA funding to be approved by MOE.

If the course date you registered for is less than 3 weeks, you will be required to pay in cash first. Once the PSEA is approved, Bettr Academy will refund you the course fee you paid.

We verify your eligibility with government systems. Confirmation email within 7 working days.

3. Pay your share

The total cost displays as full price minus funding. You pay only the remaining amount. Claims process is automatic.

How do I know the funding and subsidies available for the course I am interested in?

In the individual course page, use the Funding Calculator to find out the amount of subsidy you are eligible for.

Any other funding support that can be used to offset the nett course fees?

Trainees can use their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) to pay for SCTP. Trainees can call 24-hour automated PSEA hotline at 6260 0777 to check their account balance.

How can I apply for additional course fee funding support?

You may let your training provider know if you meet the eligibility criteria for additional course fee funding support. The additional course fee funding support will be applied automatically if you fulfil the eligibility criteria. The training provider will be able to check in TPGateway if the trainee is eligible for AFS.
