From a Young Mom to a Manager Leading the Team at Bettr

With only a PSLE qualification and the responsibilities of being a single mother, Shirley faced many barriers before finding purpose in specialty coffee. Over the past 14 years, she has built a successful career in the industry, Shirley is a WDA ACLP-Certified Trainer and Assessor, as well as an AST trainer. Today, she leads a team of 10 as Manager, Operations of Bettr.

She has played a key role in expanding Bettr Coffee, managing 16 retail outlets, coffee cloud bars, and office coffee solutions. She also oversees the running of the Academy, shaping the student experience while leading a growing team. Beyond this, she leads rehabilitation programs for Singapore Prisons and Boys & Girls Homes.

Her journey is a testament to the power of upskilling, perseverance, and passion — showing that no matter the challenges, a Bettr future is always possible.
