WSQ Automated Espresso Operations and Workflow
Operate automated espresso equipment, improve workflow, and deliver consistent espresso quality in high-volume F&B settings.

Overview
This course equips learners with the practical skills to operate automated espresso machines, optimize extraction settings, and maintain beverage consistency across service periods. It focuses on workflow efficiency, equipment handling, quality control, hygiene, and safe operating practices in modern café and F&B environments. Learners will also develop the ability to support technology-driven preparation systems and adapt to evolving service models in high-volume operations.
Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate and apply technological factors influencing espresso quality, including extraction parameters, grinder calibration systems, integrated milk texturing technologies, and machine performance metrics to achieve specified beverage outcomes.
- Configure and optimize autonomous espresso equipment by calibrating system parameters and validating automated extraction processes to achieve consistent beverage quality and production standards.
- Apply modern technologies to analyse espresso production data, predict extraction outcomes, and support data-driven decision-making for beverage consistency and quality assurance.
- Monitor and interpret real-time operational data generated by automated espresso systems to evaluate system performance, identify variances, and maintain specified production parameters.
- Design and justify technology strategies for the selection, integration, and deployment of autonomous espresso systems to achieve specified beverage quality, operational efficiency, and performance objectives.
- Evaluate the performance, capabilities, and limitations of autonomous espresso technologies, and recommend appropriate technology solutions based on operational requirements, quality standards, and system performance data.
Certification
A Statement of Attainment in Automated Espresso Operations and Workflow will be given to learners upon successful completion of the assessments.
