Overview
This is an introductory course to spirits and standard alcoholic beverages served in Food & Beverage establishments. Besides learning the recipes and methods of preparing the alcoholic beverages, learners will be introduced to basic concepts of alcoholic beverages and food pairing and learn the art of drink recommendations based on customer preferences.
Learning Outcomes
- Acquire the knowledge of the characteristics and types of spirits used in making standard alcoholic beverages
- Identify customer preferences and recommend alcoholic beverage options to customers
- Recognise the recipes and methods of preparing standard alcoholic beverages including the using of appropriate tools and equipment
- Follow standard operating procedure and execute steps for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
Prerequisites
Basic numeracy and English literacy skills (level 2).

If the request to reschedule is given less than 5 working days, it will not be approved unless accompanied by a valid medical certificate or equivalent, subject to a $30 admin charge. You may reschedule a class up to twice. After which, the course fees will be forfeited.
