We are specifically looking for Adjuncts with these skillsets:
- Specialty Coffee Instruction – Valid SCA AST certification and ACLP/ACTA required
- Food Hygiene – Valid Food Hygiene Certification required
- Emotional Skills Training – Experience in delivering courses related to emotional intelligence, self-awareness, empathy, resilience, or related topics. ACLP/ACTA certification preferred.
- Bilingual Delivery – Confidence in delivering Food Hygiene training in Mandarin is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct public SCA and WSQ coffee education classes and/or F&B classes (after alignment with BB's approach and curriculum), including corporate and public coffee appreciation workshops, impact programmes and lifestyle workshops in accordance to standards of the Academy and relevant governing bodies.
- Assist in general maintenance of equipment and day-to-day class and bar operations.
- Take charge of curriculum for modules that are assigned and conduct periodic curriculum reviews with the Head Trainer / SME team.
- Lead in the development, launch and running of coffee tech courses and workshops.
- Provide feedback to refine and further develop training programmes, both existing and new.
- Provide support to other needs across the organisation including Operations (classroom and facility setup), coffee service and coffee quality served at Academy tasting bar.
- Assist in all coffee-related activities, including as support during training classes and roasting.
- Assist in any social programmes (HT or BWT) training / coaching
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on previous experience as a trainer/corporate training specialist in the relevant areas of specialisation.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills—able to engage learners across diverse backgrounds.
- ACTA-qualified adult educator and/or Authorised SCA Trainers (ASTs).
- Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
- Ability to maintain an effective learning environment to drive understanding (i.e. using visual aids, able to recognise when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention)
- A demonstrated teaching style reflecting compassion, wisdom and integrity
- Energy and a passion for excellence, teamwork and creating success
General Responsibilities:
- Trainer-related administrative tasks, including attendance marking, class opening and closing.
- Training will be as per Bettr Barista’s proprietary training curriculum and lesson plan.
- Related training materials (teaching materials, student materials, etc) and required equipment will be provided by Bettr Barista.
- All training to be conducted at Bettr Barista’s premises except when otherwise stated.
- You are to use your own laptop for training
and any related special projects or ad hoc services as requested by the Client and agreed by the Service Provider.
In addition, the following is desirable but not required:
Experience in working, studying or volunteering with vulnerable/disadvantaged young people or adults
