Academy - Emotional Trainer + Interventionist, Impact Programmes

You will play an integral role in meeting the training needs of participants using blended learning, classroom learning and virtual learning delivery modalities. You will be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of training activities across the Company.

As our Trainer / Educator  you will combine your interpersonal skills with a passion for education and serving marginalised communities to support and motivate the next generation of marginalised individuals to be educated about our work at Bettr, teach  employable through training and into work. You’ll be joining a social enterprise with a focus on changing lives through coffee.

Key Responsibilities

Training 

  • Conduct EQ, soft skills and employment skills education classes  (after alignment with Bettr's approach and curriculum), including schools, corporate and public classes, WSQ and Bettr Social programmes classes 
  • Assist in all social programmes-related activities, provide support in training classes and development of students on the programmes
  • Facilitate and deliver learning solutions and develop in-house training programs 
  • Mentor students/staff in EQ, soft skills and employment skills education
  • Assist in any social programmes (HT or BWT) training / coaching 
  • Co-develop curriculum and conduct any other new Social programmes, EQ-related courses in alignment with Bettr’s approach and curriculum
  • Conduct Social Programmes & WSQ assessment in accordance to the Bettr’s standards
  • You will take ownership of trainee development and work closely with the Social Programmes team to ensure everyone’s progression. You will also be instrumental in providing feedback in order to refine and further develop our training programmes, both existing and new.

E-Learning Administrator & Content Development

  • To administer and maintain the eLearning platforms
  • To develop process and policies to ensure that students have a positive eLearning experience
  • To design and deliver eLearning programmes
  • Conceptualize training materials based on data and research
  • Create training strategies, initiatives, and materials

Qualifications & Training 

  • Professional qualification relating to classroom facilitation, education, counselling, social work or youth work
  • Degree or higher, preferably in education, psychology, counselling and/or social work (Desirable but not essential)
  • (EQ) Emotional intelligence training/certification (Preferably by Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Network) (Desirable but not essential)
  • PGDE OR ACTA/ACLP-qualified adult educator (Desirable but not essential)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in clinical, education and training, management OR executive role 
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms Achieving KPIs in a programme or service context 
  • Preparing and delivering written and verbal reports
  • Developing successful relationships and effective partnership management across various sectors
  • Supporting groups and individuals from a diverse range of support needs and demographics 
  • Willingness and ability to support clients with needs such as:
    • Mental or physical illness
    • Low income or educational attainment
    • Unemployment 
    • Victims of abuse or neglect 
    • Offenders 
    • Substance abuse
    • Special educational needs 
    • Facilitating programmes, workshops or training

  • Good knowledge of existing laws, policies and code of ethics in a local context
